Our People

John W. Voss, P. Eng., President

John has over 25 years of experience in the Canadian energy sector. He worked for 15 years in the TransCanada PipeLines organization in Toronto and Calgary, including roles in business development and strategic planning in gas marketing, gas supply acquisition and gas storage services. From 1997 to 2001, John was director of the consulting services business of A.E. Sharp Limited. John established Aegent in 2001. John holds a Masters of Business Administration degree (with Distinction) from York University and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree (with Honours) from the University of Toronto. John is the former Chair of the Ontario Energy Association's Energy Markets Joint Sector Committee.

Noel Cheeseman, Managing Director

Noel brings to Aegent a breadth of knowledge and expertise in energy and water conservation and sustainability management consulting. He has over 14 years experience in the energy sector working with organizations, building owners and managers to reduce energy and water consumption in their portfolios, through his own firm and as a principal with energy efficiency performance pioneer Enerlife Consulting. Noel has developed and managed a wide range of programs and tools for public and private sector clients including municipalities, hospitals, schools, social housing and residential. He has consulted for a range of commercial and multi-residential property owners and all three levels of government. Noel holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Queen's University.

Frank A. Brennan, P. Eng., Senior Consultant

Frank is a professional engineer, with over 30 years of experience in the natural gas transmission and distribution industry with Enbridge Gas Distribution and TransCanada PipeLines. Frank has extensive experience in the upstream gas supply and transportation market and in gas supply planning, gas acquisition, risk management, asset optimization, gas supply operations, and the development of strategies and policies related to gas supply and associated regulatory issues. Frank has testified before the National Energy Board and the Ontario Energy Board on gas supply and transportation facilities issues.

Frank has an engineering degree from Carleton University, and has completed the Executive Program at Queen's University.

Bruce Sharp, P. Eng., Senior Consultant

Bruce is a professional engineer and a chartered industrial gas consultant, with more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry. Prior to joining Aegent, and as principal of his own company, Bruce provided independent advice to medium- and large-volume consumers of electricity and to small generators, on purchasing power and operating in the new Ontario market. As Manager, Power Products and Services with Engage Energy, he was actively involved in the design, sale, and delivery of client products and services targeted at the commodity segment of the electricity business. Bruce's professional experience also includes work at Ontario Hydro as an industrial energy advisor and at The Consumers' Gas Company Limited working with industrial and commercial customers.

Mike Risavy, Consultant

Prior to rejoining Aegent, Mike worked in the Electricity Resources and Power System Planning divisions at the Ontario Power Authority. There, he provided analytical and strategic support for negotiating electricity supply contracts and forecasted electricity supply, demand and pricing for long-term integrated planning. Mike holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing Technology. He has completed courses in project management, financial analysis, negotiation tactics and electricity market mechanics.

Valerie J.M. Young, Director, Research & Analysis

Val has extensive experience from more than 25 years in the energy sector, in pipeline and utility regulation, strategic planning and market analysis with A.E. Sharp Limited, The Consumers' Gas Company Limited, and TransCanada PipeLines. Val holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Mathematics, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree.

Peter Chong, Energy Market Analyst

Peter comes to Aegent from the financial services industry.  Peter brings a strong understanding of economics and financial analysis to the Aegent team. He has a Derivatives Market Specialist designation and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degee in Economics and German Studies. Peter works with the Aegent team in the continued analysis of commodity pricing trends.

Sylvie Tersigni, Operations Coordinator

Sylvie comes to Aegent from BP Canada Energy. Sylvie is responsible for the day-to-day gas supply operations, reviewing gas supply and demand for clients and ensuring clients operate within contractual limits. She also executes nominations to suppliers, pipelines and utilities and prepares month-end settlement and costs reports to meet client requirements.

Noman Siddiqui, Information Systems Analyst

Noman is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of Aegent's information systems, including those systems for gathering and analyzing energy consumption and cost data. Noman has over 10 years of international experience in the areas of systems and software development and project management, in a variety of businesses. Noman holds Masters and Bachelor degrees in Computer Science.

Kathleen Murray, Office Administrator

Kathleen manages day-to-day administrative processes, and is responsible for verification of energy transactions and invoices and client reporting. Prior to joining Aegent, Kathleen worked in various administrative functions for companies in the financial sector.
